Dr. Annika Paulsen was born and raised in Sturgeon Bay. She attended Knox College where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Economics. Dr. Paulsen then attended Illinois College of Optometry for her Doctor of Optometry degree. During the four year program, she was accepted into the Accelerated Clinical Program, served as President of the Tomb and Key Honor Fraternity and was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Fraternity. She graduated Summa Cum Laude and joined her father as an associate optometrist in 2019. Her first job was at Door County Eye Associates 20 years prior, answering the phones and pulling charts.
Dr. Paulsen’s professional interests include managing eye diseases like glaucoma and dry eye. Dr. Paulsen loves spending time with Special Olympics athletes and has had the honor of serving the athletes at vision screenings in Chicago and Wisconsin. She has also traveled with her father on several eye missions to Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
Dr. Paulsen lives with her husband, Bobby, and their dogs Mika and Ziggy. She enjoys cooking and baking, spending time outdoors with her husband and dogs, international travel, and cross country skiing.
