Dr. Annika Paulsen was born and raised in Sturgeon Bay. She attended Knox College where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Economics. Dr. Paulsen received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry. She has worked intermittently with her father at Door County Eye Associates since the age of 12 and finally joined him as an associate optometrist in 2019.
Dr. Paulsen’s professional interests include managing eye disease and contact lenses. Dr. Paulsen loves spending time with Special Olympics athletes and has had the honor of serving the athletes at vision screenings in Chicago and Wisconsin. She has also traveled with her father on several eye missions to Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
Dr. Paulsen lives with her husband, Bobby, and their dogs Mika and Ziggy. She enjoys cooking and baking, spending time outdoors with her husband and dogs, international travel, and cross country skiing.
